Periodically, we plan on posting here with an update on what projects we’re hoping to launch in the future! These are on top of our normal baseline of regularly publishing new articles and releasing new digital art. Here’s our current project line-up:
Book of Essays Chronic Illness/Disability
For years, we have been writing articles detailing our experiences with chronic illness and disability and the larger societal issues that shape those experiences. To bring new life to those articles and hopefully bring them to new audiences, we are planning on curating them into one big self-published book of essays on chronic illness and disability.
The idea for this project also brought on a related goal, which was to brainstorm which essays about chronic illness and disability we haven’t written yet that we might want to include in the collection. The plan is to publish some of those additional essays on Yopp first, followed by the book, and make some of them exclusive to the book only!
DID Memoir
That’s right, we’re currently working on TWO books simultaneously. Once we published our first book, “Pet” we had the same feeling we’ve heard folks get when they first get a tattoo: They can’t wait to do it again.
This book will be the story of our life, structured around seven key events, told from the perspective of many different system members. Because the book covers heavy, deeply personal stuff, this book likely won’t be finished any time soon. Writing it is difficult and sharing it with others will be even more so. But someday it will exist.
Social Justice Fighter Design Series
You’ve heard of Social Justice Warriors, but what about Social Justice Mages, Rogues, Healers, etc? To honor the wide range of social justice fighters, we’re working on a series of designs for T-shirts and stickers to feature each of the different fighters, along with the tools they are likely to utilize.
Advice Column: Accessible Me
Back in July, we wrote an article called, “Accessibility, Social Justice, and Self Growth: How to be an Accessible Person” in which we discussed our philosophy that accessibility isn’t just about ramps and elevators but is an entire way of interacting with the world and building relationships. This philosophy was the connecting idea behind our new advice column Accessible Me: Advice for self-growth, relationships, managing chronic and mental illnesses, living with disability, and social justice.
The column hasn’t gotten off the ground yet because we’ve yet to receive any questions. But if you’d like your question answered in one of our first columns, you can submit a question here.
Continuing Transfer from Redbubble to Etsy
Since May, we have been working on taking our digital designs down from Redbubble and adding them to new products on our Etsy store. This is a slow process but it means we have far more control over the new store and the products we sell. We are continuing to move designs, add additional products for existing designs, and introduce brand new designs in our Etsy store.
Here you can find ALL our existing designs and the current products that are available across all our stores (besides Redbubble) and if you send us a message, you can give input on which designs we prioritize adding to Etsy or which products you’d like to see designs added to!
